GeoVid Site Launched

29 December 2010: Results from our recent research investigating geo-referenced video have been implemented in a prototype system called GeoVid. The GeoVid search portal is accessible at http://geovid.org. The acquisition application for smartphones to record and upload/share geo-referenced video can be downloaded from the same site. Currently a GeoVid Android App is available directly from the web site and an iPhone app is coming soon.

Launch of Research Centre CoSMIC

1 September 2010: We are participating in the Centre of Social Media Innovations for Communities (CoSMIC), which has officially been launched. The founding partners of CoSMIC are the National University of Singapore, the Nanyang Technological University, and the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, as well as the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA).

IEEE ICME 2010 Demonstration

21 July 2010: We demonstrated our latest tool for spatial, interactive audio at the IEEE ICME 2010 conference at the Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore. The demonstration was entitled "An Embedded P2P-Based Positional Audio System in Virtual Environments." Congratulations to the authors Beomjoo Seo, Min Min Htoon, Chung-Dau Wang, and Roger Zimmermann!

ACM SMVC 2010 Paper Accepted

28 July 2010: A paper authored by Lingyan Zhang, Roger Zimmermann, and Guanfeng Wang has been accepted at the ACM Workshop on Surreal Media and Virtual Cloning (co-located with ACM Multimedia 2010, Florence, Italy). The paper is entitled "Presentation of Geo-Referenced Videos with Google Earth". Congratulations to all the authors!
