11 March 2014: The insect sound recognition project has been in the news on Adam Powell III's Communication Leadership and Policy blog as a result of COSMIC Co-Director Roger Zimmermann in November 2013 participating in the "Forum on Mobile Devices and Public Service," organized by Geoffrey Cowan and Adam Powell III of the Annenberg Retreat at Sunnylands, Santa Monica, in a session on public information and safety, education and health care.

ACM Multimedia 2014 Workshop

4 March 2014: We will be organizing a workshop entitled "1st International Workshop on Internet-Scale Multimedia Management" that will be co-located with the ACM Multimedia 2014 conference, to be held in Orlando, Florida. We will be setting up a web site soon and post more details there.
