Grand Challenge Award at IEEE ICME 2018

25 July 2018: PhD student Abdelhak Bentaleb won the first prize award in the Grand Challenge on Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP hosted by the DASH-IF at the IEEE ICME 2018 conference held in San Diego, California, USA, from 23-27 July 2018.   • WINNER: “Game Theory Based Bitrate Adaptation for dash.js Reference Player” by Abdelhak Bentaleb, Ali Begen, Roger Zimmermann
  • RUNNER-UP: “Tile-based QoE-driven HTTP/2 Streaming System for 360 Video” by Zhimin Xu, Yixuan Ban, Kai Zhang, Lan Xie, Xinggong Zhang, Zongming Guo, Shengbin Meng, Yue Wang

More information about the implementation of the game theory based bitrate adaptation algorithm (GTA) in the dash.js reference player, including its source code, can be found on the streaming.university/GTA website.

"A Survey on Bitrate Adaptation Schemes for Streaming Media over HTTP" is now available in the IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials (COMST) journal as Open Access.
